Radians Wins 2020 SPARK Award

Radians honored with a 2020 SPARK Award for making Memphis a great place to live, work, and play

MEMPHIS, TN–December 14, 2020—Radians will be one of thirteen organizations and individuals who will be honored on Monday, December 14 from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., during The SPARK Awards 2020 special televised broadcast on WKNO/Channel 10.

The seventh annual televised awards show will celebrate the efforts of individuals, nonprofits, corporations, and schools, in 13 different categories, who are igniting change and making a positive impact in the Greater Memphis community. Radians won in the corporate category with 101 to 499 employees.

“The SPARK Awards are all about honoring those who truly make the Mid-South a great place to live, work, and play,” said Charles McLarty, WKNO President and CEO.

Radians was recognized for a SPARK award because it contributes to all three facets.

This top-tier PPE manufacturer headquartered in Memphis provides livelihoods for over 200 Memphians, plus its partnerships with local professionals, charities, and vendors contribute to the success of other Memphis companies. Radians donation of over 14,000 N95 respirators this past March contributed to the well being and safety of local healthcare providers and first responders during COVID-19.

Another significant reason why Radians was honored with a SPARK award centered around its sponsorship of a 10-year agreement for the naming rights to the Radians Amphitheater at the Memphis Botanic Garden, home to the popular “Live at the Garden” series.

“I wholeheartedly believe in the Live at the Garden series, its passionate Co-Director, Sherry May, and the significant value the concert series brings to our community,” said Mike Tutor, Radians CEO.

“Just like our Grizzlies sponsorship, our commitment to the Memphis Botanic Garden for the next ten years is a great way to give back to our community. In a world where many things can divide us, sports and music unite us. Radians is truly honored that our contributions were recognized for a SPARK Award,” said Tutor.

“We’re happy to play an important role in helping Memphis grow culturally and economically,” said Bill England, Radians President. “Receiving the SPARK Award means a lot to us because the city of Memphis is very important to us.”
