“Rod will be sorely missed by Sphere 1 for the all the impactful as well as subtle things he consistently provided with his selflessness.” – Rob Moe, Sphere 1 President and CEO
On Tuesday August 2nd Rod Steier passed away in presence of his family.
Rod was a man that meant so much to anyone that knew him. He was kind, thoughtful, passionate, loving, well-spoken and overall, one of most genuine people you could have ever met or spent time with.
Rod and his family business Duo Fast Northeast have been members of Sphere 1 since 2005. Rod represented the Sphere 1 membership as the leader of the air fastening committee and served on the Sphere 1 Board of Directors through two terms and assisted our Board whenever he was needed with sound thinking, and leadership.
Rod will be sorely missed by Sphere 1 for the all the impactful as well as subtle things he consistently provided with his selflessness.
We are less today than when Rod was here with us.
In his honor, please donate to the Rod Steier Memorial Foundation. This foundation was set up by Rod’s children with the goal of helping young athletes excel in organized sports, irrespective of background or needs. Through his work as a teacher and coach, Rod like so many coaches found that involvement in sports and other team activities greatly benefited students off the field of play and throughout their lives. As he would say ‘Not every kid is going to be interested in academics, but if you can get them interested in something they care about, their lives will improve’. Rod’s family stated that they appreciate donations of any amount. His children are excited to help kids and further Rod’s legacy in honor of their father.
If you would like to donate, please make checks out to the Rod Steier Memorial Foundation, checks can be sent directly to:
